What does AWS Fargate give you compared with running ECS on EC2 instances?

Containers that run without you provisioning, patching or scaling the underlying instances, billed by the task's vCPU and memory

Fargate is a serverless compute engine for ECS and EKS. You set the size of each task, and AWS runs it. So there is no cluster of instances for you to provision, patch or scale.

"A managed Kubernetes control plane" is wrong. That describes EKS. EKS can use Fargate, but it is a different service.
