Which statement about AWS Regions and Availability Zones is correct?

A Region is a separate geographic area containing multiple isolated Availability Zones, each made of one or more data centers with independent power and networking

A Region is a separate geographic area. Each Region has several Availability Zones (AZs). The AZs are physically isolated from each other, but fast, low-latency networking links them. Because of this isolation, deploying across AZs protects you when one data center fails.

"Availability Zones in a Region share one power supply" is wrong. Each AZ has its own power and networking, so spreading across AZs protects against hardware and power failures, not only software bugs. "An Availability Zone is a single server rack" is also wrong: an AZ is one or more whole data centers. "Every AWS service and resource is global" is wrong too. Most resources, such as EC2 instances, RDS databases and VPCs, belong to one Region or one zone. They are not global.
